Ilyas Shurpaev (journalist)

R.I.P.

He was killed in Moscow on 21.03.2008.

There are a few versions about the reasons for this murder.
The main one is his blog (rus.), where he was criticizing (ironically) some aspects of the “daily life“ in Russia.

In his last message (blog)  he wrote about the “black list” of the journalists (taboo for them to work for the newspaper), wich was published for the workers of some dag(h)estanian newspaper (his ex-employer). It was a “surprise” for Ilyas to find his name there, because policy wasn’t his profile. Usually he was writing articles about his trips.

Tibet

Last Friday I was in Dresden (Germany) and took this picture downtown. That stuff is the work of some guy,who was standing there and asking people to give their vote for one of the answers. The question was: "Tibet's Crisis. What should the german olympic team do in this case?"

1-st post = greeting + describtion

hi,

BNIB (bad news information board) -
doesn't mean collecting the most horrible news (like: "1000 deaths because of the train crash" or "nuclear holocaust, no one will survive" ). To find the most interesting (bad) news and make them more useful , such that we can have warning signals for the future (short analysis and implications), is the point of this blog.
